Brain Imaging-Compatible Enclosure

Enclosure designed for social behavior experiments in mice, optimized for the combined use of imaging techniques in freely moving animals, including fiber photometry, electrophysiology, and optogenetics.

The demonstrator mice are placed in the two corner compartments, leaving the rest of the enclosure accessible to the observer mouse. Openings in the corner barriers allow interaction between the observer mouse and the demonstrator mice, including olfactory and social contact, while a central barrier prevents interaction between the two demonstrator mice.

The enclosure is entirely made of smooth plastic, and the removable barriers allow for easy cleaning.

Mounted on a Wheeled Cart

The enclosure is mounted on a mobile wheeled cart, with additional space provided for integrating your recording station. A support stand can also be added according to your needs for mounting different commutators.

This workstation provides both high experimental reproducibility and optimal mobility, making it easy to move the entire setup between different experimental rooms.

Integrated Camera for Behavior-Tracking-Ready Videos

The camera and infrared illumination are mounted on the frame, ensuring stable alignment and a consistent recording field of view.

The enclosure floor is transparent to infrared light but appears opaque to the animals, allowing mice to move naturally while providing the experimenter with an unobstructed view from underneath. This design ensures clear recordings without cable obstruction, making it ideally suited for automated behavioral tracking and analysis.

In addition, the infrared light source is powered by a system designed to minimize electrical noise, making the setup fully compatible with simultaneous electrophysiological recordings.
