Lickometer
Behavior
The lickometer system we have developed enables precise measurement of liquid consumption and analysis of lick microstructure, a sensitive behavioral biomarker widely used in preclinical research. This system is compatible with and can be synchronized with photometry, optogenetics, and electrophysiology experiments in freely moving animals.
The system combines:
- A high-precision lickometer
- A controlled liquid delivery system
- Dedicated "AQUILog" software
- Automated video analysis of licking behavior
Modularity and Deployment
- Up to 12 lickometers simultaneously per system
- Portable and easily transportable version
- Can be integrated into different experimental setups
Interface and Data
- Dedicated acquisition software designed for intuitive use
- Real-time visualization of lick events
- Structured export of behavioral data
- Complete traceability of experimental sessions
LMT Integration
A dedicated version has been developed for integration with the LMT (Live Mouse Tracker) system:
- Adapted mechanical support
- Event synchronization
- Software compatibility under development
- Integration of a 3D model of the tower into the setup
